Quick preview of the big D2 women’s matchup tomorrow between the #2 Lady Buffs and #18 Belles.
Both teams have lost just one game all season and they have one common opponent, Texas A&M Kingsville. Kingsville handed the West Texas A&M their only loss of the year just last night. It took making 12 of 22 three-pointers and 28 of 34 free throws, the latter a season-high for any WTAMU opponent. Angelo State blew out Kingsville by 32 a month ago.
The thing that stands out to me is how dominant Angelo State has been both rebounding the basketball and in free throw attempts similar to the advantages the Notre Dame women have had over their opponents….and you saw how that led to their big win over Louisville the other night. I said it in my preview of that game free throws and rebounds matter in close games. And given Angelo State is home, I’m taking them to win this one, 76-70.
