NCAA D3 Women’s Tournament Preview

Toughest Region: Our system has loved Old Westbury and St. Joseph’s (ME) all season-long so even though those Amherst Mammoths are in that region, we see that upper left bracket as the the toughest one.  But Amherst is the team emerging.

Best Potential Matchup: SUNY-Geneseo vs Tufts in the second round looks to be a great one and we have Geneseo narrowly advancing there.

Cinderella Story: In one iteration, we actually have Old Westbury going to the Final Four over Amherst, they may not get out of Montclair alive with as good as Katie Sire is but that’s a name to watch out for.  In that same region, the StatGeek Index loves Marymount to make a run coming out of that Rochester pod.

Final Four: Give us Amherst, Thomas More, Bowdoin and Illinois Wesleyan

Championship: Thomas More over Bowdoin.  The system loves the Saints and it has them as big favorites in every one of their potential match-ups all the way to the title.

It’s the 15th anniversary of when I was part of a D3 National Championship with the Trinity Tigers, looking forward to see who actually wins this thing in a few weeks.  Would love to hear what you think, hit us up on Twitter (@WeAreStatGeeks) or email Sid@Statgeek.com
